Expenses
Track what you spend on material and tooling, with each expense's payment status.
The Expenses page records what the shop spends. Expenses come in two kinds, material and tooling, each on its own tab, and every expense carries a payment status so you can see what is still owed.
Use the Add expense button at the top to create one; that is covered on the next page.
Material and tooling
The two tabs separate what you buy to make parts from what you spend on tools. Each tab is its own list and its own running totals, but they work the same way.
Summary cards
Across the top, cards total your spending: the overall total, and the material and tooling shares of it. A Paychecks card is shown as a placeholder for a feature that is not available yet.
Finding an expense
Three controls narrow the list, and they combine:
- Search filters by supplier name.
- The status filter shows only Paid, Not paid, or Partially paid expenses.
- The date range limits the list to expenses within the dates you pick.
The table
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| # | The expense number |
| Supplier | The company the expense is from |
| Date | The date of the expense |
| Work order | The job it is booked against, if any |
| Price | The total, including VAT |
| Status | Paid, Not paid, or Partially paid |
| Actions | Edit or delete the expense |
Marking an expense paid
The status is a dropdown right in the row. Change it between Paid, Not paid, and Partially paid as you settle up with the supplier, and it saves on its own. This is how the totals on the Overview and the payment picture here stay current.
The pencil opens the expense for editing, and the trash deletes it after a confirmation.
