Traveler

The shop-floor sheet that follows a single position through the workshop.

A traveler is the sheet that travels with a part through the workshop. Unlike the other documents, it belongs to one position rather than the whole job, and it carries the part's operations for the shop floor to follow and sign off.

Generating one

The traveler is generated from the position, not the work order. Open the position, and in its Documents section use Generate traveler. There is no form to fill in: the traveler is built from the position and its operations and added to that position's document list straight away.

On the document

The traveler shows the part's details and its operations in sequence, with room to record what happens as the part is made. Generate a fresh one whenever the operations change and you need an up-to-date sheet on the floor.
