Add a tool
Add a tool to the catalogue, with the specifications that fit its type.
Add a tool with the Add tool button on the tools page. A drawer opens for the tool's basic details and the specifications that apply to its type. This adds the catalogue entry; you add the physical units to it afterwards, from the tool's own page.
The basic details

The specifications
Once you pick a type, the form shows the specifications that matter for it. They differ by type:
- An end mill asks for diameter, flutes, lengths, shank diameter, coating, and material.
- A drill asks for diameter, lengths, point angle, and so on.
- A tool holder asks for its taper, collet size, and gauge length.
Fill in the ones you know. They are what make the catalogue useful to search and compare later.
After saving
The tool is added to the catalogue with no units yet. Open it and add units to record the physical tools you actually hold, each with its own condition. That is covered on the next page.
