Add a position

Add a part to a work order, with its drawing and model, one position at a time.

Positions are added one at a time, each with its own details and files. There is no bulk import, so a job with twenty parts is built up twenty times. Adding a position is not restricted to admins and moderators; anyone on the team can do it.

Opening the form

Open the work order, then use the Add position button in its navbar. A panel titled Upload position slides in. After you add a part the panel stays open and resets itself, so you can add the next one without reopening it.

Attaching the files

At the top of the panel are two drop zones. Drag a file in or click to browse.

• Drawing takes a PDF. Dropping one in fills the part name from the file name, so name your drawings the way you want the parts to read.
• 3D model takes a STEP file, as .stp or .step.

Both are optional. You can add a position with no files and attach them later by adding the part again, though it is simplest to include them now.

Filling in the details

Status, priority, and deadline start from the work order's own values, so a new part lines up with the job unless you change it.

Adding it

Press Upload position. The part is created, and any drawing or model you attached is uploaded to it.
